We did some of our Easter celebrating before vacation, and finished up after. I had to be sure our Easter preparations were done before we went on vacation because we would be home late the night before Easter and I would not have wanted to do any last minute "Bunny" Shopping.
We colored eggs the day before we left. Each kid colored one dozen eggs. Jax's strategy was to see how big of a splash he could make in the dye when he plopped the egg in the cup. He was done in about 2 minutes. Ellie was definitively trying to make them colorful, but she didn't quite have the patience to leave it in the dye long enough to make a dark color. Austin took special care on each egg to make the colors bold and even did some two-toned ones.
For Easter this year, Austin got a new video game, Ellie got her Bella Ballerina shoes, and Jax got some power rangers.... I think Ellie was most excited with her basket. She has seen the shoes at the store and even tried them on. They are the type with the spinning disk in the toe so she can turn pirouettes in them She had left the store in real sad tears when we couldn't get them. She grinned from ear to ear and has kept very good care of them, keeping them white and being sure to not wear them out to play.
That afternoon we headed up to my Moms for dinner and She and my Dad had planned an egg hunt for my kids and my nephew Zane. They got a haul of candy, and some money from their eggs. It was a great family day and it was nice to be home after our Vacation.
