Our Summer 2012

What a busy, friend and fun filled summer we had! The weather took a little while to cooperate with the whole "summer" idea, but the weather turned nice mid July and that made for lots of camping, lake days and lots of backyard water balloon fights.

The new thing for us this summer was camping. Our family had only been camping twice, Once when Austin was 4 and Ellie was not even 2, and once last summer.... This summer we camped 4 times! We always stay pretty close, and we like to camp where there are lots of woods to play in and water to get in. The best part of camping was that we always camped with friends, so there was always someone to play with! The kids played hard all day and enjoyed campfires and marshmallows every night. I enjoyed camping with friends because you can split up the supply list a little, so you don't have to be responsible for quite so much stuff. Austin loved riding bikes and being old enough to use a pocket knife and stay up a little later than the little kids and poke in the fire with a stick. Ellie loves getting just dirty, swimming and exploring trails. Jaxon loved chocolate. He knew at Smores time there was chocolate and he was not satisfied until he had eaten more than his share. He also liked trying to keep up with the big kids on his balance bike. This was his second summer on that bike, and he put 100's of miles on that thing. Sadly, it broke... And he has yet to realize that his bigger bike with actual peddles will be just as much fun.

Some other things we did this summer was a trip to Wild Waves, (Jax missed this one) A Hike in the Ape Caves (Jax missed that one too) A Pet Show with our poochie where he won second place for most beautiful eyes! (Jax was there!) and a ride on the steam train. (Jax LOVED that one)

Chase spent lots of weekend racing and Austin and Jax took turns going with him. His parents just got a very big trailer and Austin camped a few times with them at the track, and once at the Lake.

My big boy turned a year old and Ellie was excited to start Kindergarten.... She pretended like she was not, because that's what big brother was doing, but deep down I know she could not wait!

What a summer we had! We did not go anywhere big, but we were busy with some sort of adventure each day. even if it was just a house-full of small friends to play with!
